How does the application process work at [bu:st] in times of Corona?

Due to the current situation, we currently conduct the first interview via Skype. In order to get to know each other in person and to give applicants the opportunity to learn even more about [bu:st], we continue to conduct the second interview in person. Of course, we make sure that the current hygiene regulations and distance rules are observed.

How far in advance should I apply?

Ideally you apply for any positions around 3 months before your desired start date.

How should I apply?

Please apply online by using our application form. This shortens the processing time (and thus your waiting time).

Which documents should I attach to my application?

Your application include a cover letter, your CV/resume plus other information regarding your career history.

When will I get a response to my application?

The processing time depends on the job position and the number of applications received. We will inform you as soon as possible. Usually you will get an answer within 2-3 weeks.

What happens to my personal information?

Your personal data will be used exclusively for recruitment purposes. We comply with the Federal Data Protection Act.

Will my costs for the interview be refunded?

Yes, if you release us in advance. Please appeal us when making an appointment for an interview to agree on reimbursement of your costs. For the reimbursement the original receipts as well as a covering letter with the following information have to be submitted: First and Last Name Interview date List of the costs Bank information

Can I work on my thesis at [bu:st]?

Yes, of course. A thesis is usually possible after an internship or a student job, as long as our supervision capacities allow it. You can also apply proactively (just send an e-mail to and inform us about your desired topic.

What format should my CV/resume be in?

In your CV you include your education and your career. Any gaps in your resume should be explained (e.g. studies abroad, application phases, parental leave ...). Certainly we are also interested in your language and computer skills as well as your hobbies and any other relevant information about yourself.

Are the job offers still open?

Yes, all job offers on our website are still open. Once a position is filled, it will no longer be displayed.

How does the recruitment process work?

The preselection will be based on the application documents. We usually plan two interviews. In the second interview we perform a role-play (assessment). Further information about the application process can be found here.

Will my application be kept confidential?

Yes, of course. Please inform us if we are only allowed to call you at certain times of the day.

What should the cover letter look like?

One of the most important documents of your application is the cover letter. Here you tell us why you want to work for us and why we should hire you. You don’t need to rephrase your resume, but get us interested in you.Why should we get to know you personally? Make us curious!
